Our Team

Outdoor fans in every season: we turn your very own travel ideas for Alaska into reality.

Ed

Ed

The murkl.com sled dog

I'm Ed, the murkl.com sled dog in Alaska. My musher is Brent Sass, a close friend of the murkl.com founder and probably the best dogmushing trainer in Alaska. I can only confirm that, because at his Wild and Free Mushing kennel (http://wildandfreealaska.com) in Eureka, Brent trains and looks after me and all my teammates with the very best of care! "Run, run, run – the only goal is the run" is the motto in our heads as we give it our all to be right up front in the biggest and toughest international sled dog races like the Yukon Quest and the Iditarod!

Florian von Derschau

Florian von Derschau

Founder & CEO

I'm Florian von Derschau, though people have always called me Murkel. I fell in love with Alaska on my first trip there in 2009 at the latest, and ever since, my goal has been clear: I want to share the magic of this land with everyone who loves real adventures in nature.

Joe Hardenbrook

Joe Hardenbrook

Our outpost in Alaska

Joe Hardenbrook loves and lives Alaska! He has always organized extravagant and highly individual trips. He often helps murkl.com out when we need accommodations in remote areas or an experienced contact for a particular region. Whether it's fishing or expeditions into the Arctic: Joe knows his stuff.

I'm Martin Slupski, and I've been excited about murkl.com for quite a while now – about the idea of bringing travelers and guides closer together.
