Mushers, skippers, logisticians and adventurers: together with them we put your trip through Alaska together.
-
Brent Sass
Experienced dog musher
Brent Sass is one of the best and most experienced mushers out there. He won the Yukon Quest in 2015. His dogs are his family, and they face every adventure together. With his team, he has even saved the life of another musher in a blizzard, twice.
-
Geoff Peterson
Skipper of the salmon troller »Ocean Wave«
As skipper of the Ocean Wave, Geoff is probably the only captain who gives you the chance to work as a fisherman on a commercial fishing boat. He'll introduce you to the art of salmon trolling and then treat you to the freshest sushi you've ever had. You can also learn a lot from him about fishing practices and the problem of industrial overfishing of the world's oceans.

Joe Hardenbrook
Organizer of extravagant, highly customized trips
Joe Hardenbrook loves and lives Alaska! He has always organized extravagant, highly customized trips. He often lends murkl.com a hand when we need lodging in remote areas or an experienced contact for a particular region. As co-founder of northernadventuretours.com, he organizes road trips and is also happy to take on completely custom projects at any time. Whether it's fishing or expeditions to the Arctic: Joe knows his stuff.

John Gaedeke
Survival trainer, river guide and dog musher
John loves nature, solitude and animals. He inherited Iniakuk Lodge in the Brooks Range from his father, who used to take tourists on big-game hunts here. But John, who isn't much into hunting, now runs it as an ecotourism lodge.
The lodge sits in a beautiful spot on Iniakuk Lake, far from any civilization, and has two more log cabins in nearby Gates of the Arctic National Park.

Josh Horst is probably the best logistics expert in all of Alaska. With his company Horst Expediting & Remote Operations, he organizes even the most demanding expeditions in northern Alaska for his clients, from research projects and hunting trips to wilderness tourism. He provides his clients with all the equipment they need: from buses, snowmachines and dog sleds to tents and wilderness gear, all the way down to sleeping bags and the right outdoor clothing.
-
Julian »Jules« Hanna
Mountain guide and outdoor specialist
As a professional mountain guide, Jules spends most of his time in Alaska's mountains. Whether as a heli-skiing guide or as a mountain guide in summer, with him you always have someone by your side you can trust.
-
Kathie und Bill Merchant
River, hiking and mountain bike guides
Kathie and Bill Merchant are two endurance phenomena and have been working as wilderness guides for many years: Bill for over 30 years, with Kathie joining him in 2002. Whether on the river, on foot or by bike, whether in summer or snow biking in winter, they never seem to get tired and always have enough breath left to calmly show you and explain the wildlife and the surrounding nature, even on the most challenging trips. Another of their strengths is how much they tune in to their guests, so the trips will be a perfect fit for you! You can book them for groups of two or more, always exclusively, meaning no other participants.
And those of you who really want to push your fitness can join one of their special training camps to prepare for a 1,600-kilometer (1,000-mile) race. -
Zack Knevel
Pilot
Zack is one of our bush pilots. In summer he flies you to the most remote rivers or mountains. And in winter your skis simply get strapped to the wing struts and he flies you to the most amazing runs. Zack is a very experienced pilot in Alaska's mountains, and with his experience and his "Super Cub" he can land almost anywhere in Alaska's wilderness.
