As skipper of the Ocean Wave, Geoff is probably the only captain who gives you the chance to work as a fisherman on a commercial fishing boat. He'll introduce you to the art of salmon trolling and then treat you to the freshest sushi you've ever had. You can also learn a lot from him about fishing practices and the problem of industrial overfishing of the world's oceans.

Geoff Peterson is a textbook old salt. A classic Alaskan fisherman. The ocean is his life. He grew up on a fishing boat and bought his first boat of his own at 19. Being a very sociable guy, he loved our idea of bringing guests aboard to give them a taste of a fisherman's life. We at murkl.com brainstormed and tinkered with him until we had cleared every legal hurdle for these action-packed »fishing trips«.
Today, Geoff and his Ocean Wave are (as far as we know) the only outfit offering trips for private individuals on a commercial fishing boat!
The Ocean Wave is a typical salmon troller. She has five bunks, a galley, a berth, an ice hold and, of course, a full set of fishing gear. For his guests' comfort, Geoff even installed a small shower. That way you can experience the daily life of an Alaskan fisherman firsthand on the Ocean Wave without giving up a certain level of luxury. Geoff's hospitality is hard to beat. If you let him know your favorite cocktails, he loves spoiling you in the evening after a hard day's work with drinks and the most delicious food.
