Frisbee Golf
Disc golf (frisbee golf) is hugely popular in Alaska right now. And once you've tried it, you'll know why. Spending a few hours out in nature with a couple of good buddies and a bag of discs is just ridiculously fun. In Alaska, every disc golf course is free and playable all year round!
If you've never heard of frisbee golf, it's high time to change that. Disc golf has made its way to Germany and Austria too, but the courses there don't compare to the ones in Alaska. Up north, disc golf is incredibly popular and everywhere you look. That's why Alaska has some of the most beautiful and exciting courses in the world. You'll be scrambling over rocks and roots, you'll often have a hard time finding your disc again, and every now and then you'll need to watch your step, because the terrain is just asking for a nasty fall, or you might startle a moose or a bear while searching for your disc. Other than that, fun is guaranteed! A disc golf set (3 discs: driver, midrange and putter) costs just $30, and you don't need any other gear like caddies or the like. So get out there: you'll find courses all over Alaska, and usually some fun, competitive locals to play with, which makes disc golf even more of a blast!
