Horseback Travel

In summer, horses are the best way to travel Alaska's vast open spaces. A horse handles rough terrain far better than any vehicle. It's also much quieter, which makes it great for wildlife watching. And best of all: you always have a good companion with you!

Alaska's wide-open landscape practically invites you to swing yourself into the saddle and enjoy absolute freedom!

With your saddlebags packed with the necessary camping gear, you're free to go wherever you like. Away from civilization, only the terrain and your own will (hopefully not the horse's) decide where you're headed.

And for the real cowboys among you: most of our guides are also experienced hunters, so you can catch your own dinner. One very important point: we do not offer trophy hunting! We only hunt what's needed to survive.

On horseback you can discover corners of Alaska that in summer are otherwise unreachable or only accessible by plane.

On horseback, too, anything is possible, from a day trip to a long expedition.
